![]() This was probably because you could change everyone's hats and armour, but still. Li Dian practically had a broom on his head (shoulda used that design for DW, let's face it).One of the few downsides about Kessen III was how the costumes looked a little more.subdued and "realistic" rather than outlandish and distinctive. They go out of their way to make that stuff as ridiculous as possible in every game. ![]() I love the hats and costumes in Kessen in general. However I still think Kessen II has very nice designs, I'm even (not so) secretly hoping that KOEI introduces in DW female characters that look similar to Kessen Hu Zhi and Xun Yu.Įmperor Yuan Shu wrote:The first game hasn't aged too well but it can still be entertaining. Maybe it's also for the "sillier" factor that you mentioned and some Kessen costumes had, Hua Xiong, so I understand what you mean. I played a DW game soon after, and I liked its designs even better than the Kessen ones. You didn't often see something similar at that time. What I loved most is that they were perfectly Chinese-fantasy, I know the term doesn't exist XD but I mean that the traditional-Chinese influence was clear despite the fantasy elements. I played Kessen II before the DW series (Destrega even before Kessen II, but that's another subject) and, maybe also because I didn't have a basis for comparison, I thought the Kessen II costumes were amazing. Kessen II designs were silly, whereas Kessen III designs were a little bit too grounded. However, the customization was too complicated and sometimes took too much time, whereas in Kessen II everything was always very simple. ![]() Story of Kessen III was very strong and deep.
